EMDR Therapy (50 minute session)

Engage in EMDR therapy to process and heal from trauma, reduce anxiety and depression. Insurance covers 50 minute EMDR sessions, but does not cover EMDR Intensives. Dawn is a Certified EMDR therapist and helping clients heal from trauma is her passion!

EMDR Intensives

EMDR intensives are tailored to your individual needs. After a free 20 minute phone consultation, we will determine the estimated length of your therapy. EMDR intensives may range from a ½ day to a 5 day treatment. EMDR Intensives are not covered by insurance. A 50% deposit is required before the session is booked.

What is EMDR?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based psychotherapy approach that helps people heal from trauma and distressing life experiences. Instead of only talking about the problem, EMDR uses a structured process that combines recalling memories with guided bilateral stimulation—such as side-to-side eye movements, tapping, or sounds—to help the brain reprocess how those memories are stored.

Through EMDR, painful experiences lose their emotional intensity and become less triggering. Clients often find they can think about past events with a sense of resolution, instead of feeling stuck in the same distressing patterns.

Research shows EMDR can be effective for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, grief, phobias, and other issues linked to overwhelming experiences. The goal is not to erase memories, but to help you feel calmer, more in control, and able to move forward without being held back by the past.

What are EMDR intensives?

EMDR Intensives are a focused, accelerated way to experience the benefits of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. Instead of meeting once a week for traditional 50-minute sessions, an intensive allows us to work together for longer blocks of time—anywhere from a half day to 5 whole days—so we can address trauma and distressing memories more deeply and efficiently.

This concentrated format can be especially helpful if you:

  • Want faster relief from symptoms

  • Have a busy schedule or have to travel to Louisiana or Texas (I am unable to provide therapy if you are physically in other states.)

  • Are preparing for a major life change and want to process quickly

  • Feel ready to dive in and make significant progress in a shorter period

During an EMDR Intensive, we follow the same evidence-based process as in standard EMDR, but the extended time allows us to move through more material in a single sitting. Clients often report faster breakthroughs, fewer sessions overall, and a greater sense of relief after intensive work.

An EMDR Intensive is not about rushing—it’s about giving your brain the time and space to do focused healing work without the stop-and-start feeling of weekly therapy. The result is often a noticeable shift in how you think, feel, and respond to past experiences, so you can move forward with more peace and clarity.
